Santa for Seniors

THANKS TO OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY, SANTA FOR SENIORS DELIVERED HOLIDAY CHEER AND MORE THAN 550 GIFTS!

Santa for Seniors was a sleigh-worthy endeavor last year as more than 550 gifts were delivered by Senior Resource Association’s volunteers and staff to seniors throughout Indian River County. An additional 90 gifts for the Pet Meals on Wheels program were delivered to homebound seniors for their pet companions. All of this was made possible thanks to the generosity of countless individuals and more than 40 local businesses who collected and provided gifts for the program.

“We were thrilled to support Senior Resource Association by providing gifts for their Santa for Seniors’ project. Instead of our annual holiday gift exchange, we purchased and donated gifts for seniors who are homebound and alone.” — Bill Penney, President and CEO of Marine Bank and Trust

Dill Evans Law Firm also collected gifts in lieu of their traditional gift exchange. Early in the season, White Glove Moving & Storage donated more than 40 large boxes that were gift wrapped and delivered to each drop-off location so stores could conveniently promote and collect gifts. Vero Beach Outlet Mall hosted two “Fill the Bus” events, with all 35 outlet stores participating as drop-off locations. Berkshire Hathaway spearheaded the Pet Meals on Wheels’ gift collection and, along with individual donors, collected 90 special pet gifts.
