Senior Resource Association’s Adult Enrichment and Respite program, DayAway, promotes social inclusion for persons who can no longer be left home alone safely and those with physical and cognitive challenges.

DayAway offers enriching, diverse, and relevant activities, such as exercise, dancing, and arts and crafts, in a safe and welcoming environment. The program also provides caregivers peace of mind, respite, and an opportunity to tend to their needs and well-being.

SRA’s DayAway centers are the only centers licensed in Indian River County by the Agency for Health Care Administration. Our dedicated staff, comprised of LPNs and CNAs, are certified in Alzheimer’s and dementia care.

Why Choose DayAway?

  • Our daily activities encourage participants to engage in hands-on and technology-based activities that help improve health, well-being, and cognitive function.
  • Two convenient Indian River County locations: Vero Beach and Sebastian
  • Nurse to participant ratio is 1 to 5 in Sebastian and 1 to 6 in Vero Beach
  • All participants are served plated, hot meals approved by a registered dietician to meet 1/3 of their daily dietary needs.
  • Participants may qualify for transportation to and from DayAway via Community Coach. Call 772.569.0903 for transportation eligibility requirements.
  • DayAway staff are comprised of LPNs and CNAs who provide medication management and other support for participants.

Additional Support

The DayAway team is comprised of LPNs and CNAs who provide medication management and other support for participants and respond to medical crises. Participant’s general health, including medications, blood pressure, and weight, are monitored regularly but can be done more frequently when a physician requests. Blood sugar can be monitored as requested by a physician.

Assistance includes help for participants who need help with eating, toileting, transferring, incontinence care, and mobility/ambulation. Participants with memory loss are offered assistance with toileting every two hours or as needed.
